Singapore as Final Stop for LUNA SEA Asia Tour 2013
LUNA SEA, the legendary rock band from Japan will be holding a concert in Singapore for the first time since their formation in 1989. This is a dream come true for the “SLAVES” in Singapore who have been waiting for decades for the band to visit this little red dot.
* “SLAVE” is the name of LUNA SEA’s official fan-club and term used among their fans
Marking the band’s full return to the Japanese music scene, LUNA SEA will be touring in and outside of Japan from November 2012. As part of their Asia tour concert, “The End of the Dream” Asia Tour 2013, Singapore will be the last stop after Taiwan, Hong Kong and Thailand.
The concert in Singapore will be held on 8th February, 2013 at The Star Theatre, a brand new concert hall that is located right next to Buona Vista MRT Station. A special one-week ticket pre-sale will be conducted from 10 November 2012 and thereafter, ticket sales for the public will commence from 17 November 2012, available via SISTIC. Tickets are priced at $238, $168 and $128. Arrangement for fans in the neighbouring countries to purchase tickets will also be made. While tickets of the Singapore concert are expected to be hot-selling, all tickets to their concerts in Japan, entitled “LUNA SEA LIVE 2012-2013 The End of the Dream” had already been sold out!
LUNA SEA is considered by many as one of the most successful rock bands in Japan and had pioneered the development of Visual-Kei genre. Their distinctive music and costumes in their earlier days of début had strong influence over both music and cosplay scenes in Japan and overseas. By 1998, the band had sold over a total of 2.5 million CDs in a single year. With “I for You” as the theme song for the famous Japanese drama “God, Please give me more time!”, LUNA SEA’s popularity spread overseas, leading to their first Asian tour in 1999. Despite being on a 10-year hiatus since their disbandment in 2000, their reunion tour in 2010 had drawn over 200,000 participants worldwide.
